![]() Maui WeddingsThe second largest of the islands of Hawaii, Maui welcomes millions of tourists each year. Many of these visitors do so for beautiful Maui weddings and receptions. The beauty and possibilities of this island make it a very popular wedding destination. With all of the locations to choose from, couples planning a Maui wedding will have plenty to choose from. Whether they want a beach wedding, church ceremony or another type, Maui has something to suit them. For outdoor weddings, Ahihi Bay can be a great spot. It is a small beach of white sand with waves crashing against the lava rock. Because this particular location is a reserve, it can be found free of fishing and boating. It offers a particularly great view of the sunset, and Maui weddings at dusk are among the most beautiful outdoor ceremonies you will find anywhere. Another public spot great for an outdoor wedding is Maluaka Beach. It is located in front of the Westin Maui Prince Resort, and can be convenient if the wedding party and guests are staying at the hotel. The reception following the ceremony can either be on the beach or moved inside the hotel. Because so many weddings take place as the sun goes down, this too is a great location because of its fantastic view of the sunset.
Not all outdoor weddings in Maui have to take place on a beach. The Tropical Gardens of Maui offer a breathtaking look at the gorgeous flora that Hawaii has to offer. A functional botanic garden and nursery for over twenty years, the Tropical Gardens have more than adequate accommodations for a Maui wedding. The Koi Pond with a three level waterfall makes an elegant backdrop as a couple exchanges their vows. There is also a gazebo perfect for small weddings of twenty people or less. Either of these spots, along with many others, are picturesque places to celebrate the union of two souls. For couples that are not looking for outdoor ceremonies, there are several locations that are perfect for a Maui wedding and are indoors as well. Several resorts on the island can offer both indoor and outdoor options. Many actually have wedding chapels specifically for Maui weddings, followed by reception halls large and small for receptions. Though not many people would associate a golf course with a wedding, they are often the spot for Maui weddings, or at least a backdrop. Resorts with golf courses included will often have places for your ceremony with a breathtaking view of the golf course framed by the Pacific Ocean. Although most Maui weddings happen on one of the picturesque beaches, some couples hold fast to their traditions and want to get married in a church. For these couples, Maui is not without options! Keawalai Congregational Church is a small and thoughtful place for a ceremony. Though it is a church, it looks more like a tropical beach hut with a steeple. Like most places in Maui, and all of Hawaii for that matter, this church has a great view of the ocean. Another popular church for Maui weddings is the Kaanapali Congregational Church. This is one of the most affordable weddings on the island and is a lovely place for a small wedding. Whether it is an indoor or outdoor wedding you are looking for, explore the many possible locations that Maui has to offer and you are sure to find one that suits your style and needs.
